Settling in to the New Year ...

This holiday season was a huge one for us! I think that this weekend is the first since about the middle of December that we haven't had to leave the house for a big event. I'm actually feeling a bit cooped up right now and thought that this would be a good opportunity to recap on all of the big highlights of the season.

This was the first Christmas for Maddy where she was really excited about Santa Claus. She asked Santa for Cinderella slippers (to replace her lost ones) and a kitchen set (retro-pink of course!). She also received some really great surprise gifts. One was a great, two-story dollhouse that stands taller than she does! And the other was a really cool Radio Flyer wagon (wagons sure have come a long way since we were kids!)

Another first for Maddy this year was her school recital. She sang "I'm a Little Pine Tree" and "Twinkle, Twinkle Christmas Star".

Amelia really enjoyed her first Christmas. She is a natural born paper grabber! She really loves her Little Einstein music table, her Animal Train, and her Tigger.

In January, Madolyn celebrated her third birthday (she really is a "big girl" now), Amelia was baptized, and we had our family pictures taken (which was a giant production in and of itself!)

Phew!

So, even though the holiday season was a whirlwind of activity for us this year, and even though we've been on the go-go-go for the last few weeks, we're going to miss all of the hub-bub that makes this time of year so special for our family.

Sounds like an awesome Christmas. You should be very proud of your family.
